I'm a freelance non-fiction editor who previously worked in a big five publisher. I'm open to all kinds of books - in all kinds of states(!) - but I have a particular penchant for books about culture, animals, politics, history, underrepresented groups and big ideas.

I'm a hands on editor who is comfortable tackling big picture structural amends on a new manuscript through to the nitty gritty finishing touches ahead of going to print.

Prior to going freelance, I commissioned and edited non-fiction books at Headline Publishing Group for five years, and assisted various team members on their titles. I worked on a wide-range of non-fiction, such as memoir, biography, history, science, psychology, travel and more. Equally wide-ranging were the authors I worked with: from celebrities to journalists and academics to experts, plus a former PM for good measure. I was also a founding member of Headline Press, an imprint dedicated to publishing serious non-fiction.

Before Headline I undertook various short-term roles in the industry, including a stint at Sceptre where I began my editorial career. I later completed a master's in Philosophy. Essentially, I spent two years doing philosophical readings of literary texts, and literary readings of philosophical texts. My dissertation was about disembodiment in the academy. Proper useful stuff.

Below you can see a selection of the books I commissioned and worked on, as well as some nice words from authors I've worked with. Any others questions, don't hesitate to get in touch.
